The Kings Head
The Kings Head pub dates back to the medieval period and has taken its name from the beheading of King Charles I of England. A former resident, Col. Peter Stubbers, is a prime suspect in the royal execution of 1649.
Neachtains Pub
Neachtains pub was once the medieval townhouse of the Martin family, one of the celebrated tribes of Galway. The most famous member of the family was Richard Martin, MP for Galway, and Co founder of the SPCA.
O Connells Pub
O Connells pub was originally a 19th century Spirit Grocers, a combination between a pub and a grocery shop. The pub, which retains all of its old Victorian fittings, controversially sold for a record 14 million Euros in 2006.
The Quays Pub
The Quays bar was originally two buildings, a traditional pub on the left and a pawn shop on the right. Completely renovated in 1994, the interior was given a church theme with original carved wood, stained glass, arches and pews.
